Today the weather was absolutely beautiful. I decided to explore Baku on my own. I wanted to walk along the Baku Boulevard as well as visit the Flame Towers. It was so nice to have the wind run through my hair and take in some fresh air.

After taking a couple of pictures of the boulevard, I started heading towards the Flame Towers. I had wanted to ride the Funicular (a cable railroad, especially one on a mountainside, in which ascending and descending cars are counterbalanced) but it seemed closed. Even though the Funicular was close, I didn't let that stop me from seeing the Flame Towers up close. I started walking up the stairs that lead up to the Flame Towers. I had to stop several times to catch my breath and take a drink of water but eventually, I made it to the top. I wanted to get closer to the Flame Towers but I couldn't figure out how so I just took some pictures and started looking for a bench to sit on. I started walking through the beautiful park and saw that there was an outlook and suddenly I wasn't tired anymore. The whole reason why I climbed all those steps was to get pictures of the city. I could see from the outlook that you would be able to see all of Baku so I started zig-zagging my way through to get there.

Halfway to the top!

I'm getting closer to the Flame Towers! :)

I'm right next to the Flame Towers! They are absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to show you more pictures of them.

Almost to the Outlook

I had to climb more steps to reach the lookout but I didn’t care because the view was simply breathtaking. From the outlook, I could see all of Baku including our apartment building.

Once I got home I researched what parks I walked through because they were absolutely beautiful. If you want to see more pictures of the parks, I went through the Dagustu Park and Upland Park.
