We spent last weekend in beautiful Sheki, Azerbaijan. Sheki is a five hour bus ride from Baku. The bus ride was long, but it was fun going through the mountains. While in Sheki we visited the Karavansaray and Khan Palace. We wandered through the streets of beautiful Sheki and visited all the little shops. We ate at Qaqarin, a very traditional Azeri restaurant. We climbs lots of hills and ate lots of pastry.

The road where our little rental house was on.

Beautiful cobble stone roads

Beautiful fountain that Eve and I saw while walking the streets of beautiful Sheki.

I absolutely love all the doors in Sheki, they are so unique and pretty.

To get to our rental house we had to pass this door. Something about this door makes me so happy.

This was the porch in our little rental house. The house was built in the early 1800s when Sheki was part of the Silk Road. The owner's grandfather was a merchant and was considered quite wealthy at that time. He had this house along with the neighboring house built.

Beautiful gardens

We weren't allowed to take photos inside the palace, but from this picture you can see how beautiful the inside truly is. Every room that we went in looked like this.

Appetizers: (clockwise) the dish that has the knife in it is feta, dip for the vegetables. then two tomato dishes then the last dish is pickled items (onions, tomatoes and cucumbers).

French Fries

Yogurt soup

Lamb kebabs

I don't remember what this dish was called so I'll just tell you what was in it. This dish was eggs and meat with some spices. This dish was so delicious.

This was egg noodles with some seasoned meat. A really simple, but delicious dish.
