On Wednesday we went to Qobustan, which is about one hour from the center of Baku. We met out tour guide, Mila, in front of the McDonalds in Fountain Square. We arrived at the Qobustan State Reserve around 11 am, just as we pulled into the parking lot it started sprinkling. A young gentleman took us around the museum showing us some of the pictures that we would see on the rocks. After about an hour inside the museum, we headed outdoors. Of course, as soon as we were outside it started pouring. The young gentleman showed us the rock art that we saw inside. After about half an hour, we were all soaked so we went back down to the bus to start heading back to Baku. On our way to the bus, it started hailing.
The Qobustan Museum has a beautiful website. You can even take a virtual tour of the museum as well as see some of the rock art that is outside.
On our way back we stopped at the Bibi-Heybat Mosque. We had to take our shoes off and everyone except Robin had to cover their hair. The Mosque was absolutely beautiful. Though photography was allowed I chose not to out of respect for those praying. I encourage you to look up some pictures of the Bibi-Heybat Mosque so you can see for yourself the beauty of this beautiful Mosque.

The museum building was so beautiful and I love the blue tinted windows.

This is a musical gemstone known as Gaval Dash. It makes a tambourine-like sound when it is hit in different points.

Even though it was overcast I could see the beauty within this historical place.
