For Mother's Day, we went out for lunch at Firuze Restaurant. We were all very excited to try some more traditional Azeri food. We were even more excited to have one of Mom's colleagues to be free enough to join us for lunch.

This restaurant was amazing just to look at, inside and out. The restaurant was underground. The interior was absolutely exquisite. There were Azerbaijani relics scattered throughout the entire restaurant. This is definitely one of the coolest restaurants I've been in.

If you want to check out the restaurant you can click here.

The restaurant: Firuze

*This is not my picture* This is the entrance to the restaurant.

*This is not my picture* From this picture you can see some of the interior of the restaurant. And the red oval is where we sat.

The menu. Every restaurant that we've been to the menus have always looked so beautiful. This menu was in English and had pictures next to the food item, which was very helpful.

This was a potato, salmon salad with caviar on top. I personally didn't taste it since I'm not a big fish eater but Hannah liked it.

Piti: Lamb was in a delicious broth that you could put spices on top of.

I don't remember what this was called. It was barbecue was set in front of us. There was lamb, chicken and vegetables. This was my favorite dish.

Pilaf: This a very traditional Azeri dish. Inside the puff pastry was rice, lamb, dates and chestnuts. Also you can see the barbecue dish and how it was served.

Pilaf dished after it was cut.
