This week we got to experience our first holiday in Azerbaijan. Wednesday, as many of you know was International Women's Day. In Azerbaijan, it is a National holiday everyone had off on Wednesday.

In light of the beautiful weather on Wednesday, everyone was spending time outside. Since it was a national holiday there were lots of policemen out of the streets and guiding traffic/people. Mom and Hannah visited the local bakery while Robin and I took a walk on Baku Boulevard. We saw many couples out walking and saw lots women holding flowers. You saw on Facebook, the gifts that Mom, Hannah and Eve received at work/school.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we got invited to a dinner at the library on Thursday. Once we arrived at the library, Mom introduced us to all the staff that she works with. Then, Mom took us on a tour of the library. After a little bit, we were informed that dinner was ready. Dinner was soup with the most delicious bread ever. The main meal was a penne pasta with a tomato sauce and then beef, bean dish that was over rice. The library staff asked us about school and what we liked about Azerbaijan.

The most delicious tomato soup ever!
